Oil Pastels - Buenos Aires Series

Esther Kirshenbaum Art

Buenos Aires/Tango is a continuing series of small oil pastels from my annual visits to Argentina from 2006 to 2010.

Some pieces were done at cafés, during milongas, waiting for Tango lessons, watching vendors and patrons at the San Telmo flea market, listening to Tango bands on cobblestone streets, watching dancers arrive at 3 am to begin their evening of Tango at Canning or in Belgrano.

Some were done by candlelight at a rooftop New Year's Eve Tango party with fireworks overhead, and others in the alleys of Palermo Viejo.

All pieces are 13" x 15" framed in Maple wood with off-white, 6 ply museum mats.
